Terabyte Optical Disk Memory by Multi-valued Data
Optical disk memory has been drawing much attention as archival data storage because of its long-term storage time and strongness to the diseaster. To compete with other technologies such as magnetic disk and magnetic tape, it is required to increase the storage capacity and the data transfer rate. One of the methods to increase the storage capacity is to use multi-valued data.
For this purpose, we have been investigating the property of convex-shaped mark fabricated by two-photon absorption that was proposed by Fujifilm Corporation. By using the fabricated simulator, signal characteristics have been analyzed.
